Interviewing Kristin, Owner of 7 Sisters Salon

Last month I alluded to sharing more stories than just my own.  Today I am happy to bring forth one of my wife’s stories.  Kristin went out on a limb, left her job, and opened her own salon, 7 Sisters Salon.  I decided that I would sit down with her in the salon and ask her a few questions about how she became a hair stylist, and what was the vision for the salon.

Stories Add to The All Around Life

Every story adds to The All Around Life that we each experience.  It moves our life story forward and shapes who we are.  On the whole, our stories intertwine with the stories of others and creates the communities we live in.  Each of our stories have purpose and meaning to both ourselves and to others.

Some of the things that I took away from this interview was that even through difficult times, Kristin had a heart for God that looks to use the good and the bad in her life to serve others.  The gift of compassion and a listening ear that she gives to her salon clients is always pointing them to a greater hope and letting them know that they are seen and that they matter.  Sometimes, all we need to see that hope is a little bit of Jesus and some TLC.

“This is so much more than hair.  This is a gift from God.”
